‘Tis The Season…For Murder!

Setting:

Based on Icelandic and other European and American folklore, ‘Tis the Season for Murder takes place during the Yuletide season in Iceland. The terrifying giant Gryla is hosting a party, and wintertime figures are arriving from all over. Unfortunately, the festive mood is ruined when an unexpected guest shows up dead.

This story includes some adult themes beyond murder and is not recommended for children.

Introduction:

Gryla the giantess who lives in the mountains of northern Iceland is throwing a Yuletide Party. Many international winter figures have been invited, as well as the infamous Yule Cat and Gryla’s children known as the Yule Lads.

To accommodate all her guests, Gryla held her party Christmas Eve at the old Erikson farm barn, near to her mountainous cave. Upon Christmas morning, however, the jolly elf Santa Claus was discovered face down in the snow behind the barn. Dead.

Who Killed Santa Claus?!

Characters Include:

Gryla – Host of the deadly Yule party, renowned giantess and witch who lives in the mountains. The one Icelanders tell stories about to scare their children into behaving. You love nothing more than gathering up naughty children to throw into your delicious stew.

Window Peeper – One of Gryla’s 13 troll-like children who come down from the mountains every Yule season to cause mischief and find naughty children to catch for the family stew. Giant, glowing eyes make you a frightening sight while stalking through the dark, dark nights.

Chad – The Abdominal Snowman – The Abominable Snowman’s third cousin and actually made from snow. And GAINZ! It’s all about the abs, bruh.

Ms. Claus – Married to Santa. First name Gertrude. Gertie to your friends. Desperate to get out of the North Pole for once and have some fun. Of course Santa would go get himself in trouble the one year you leave to do your own thing for a night.

Blitzen Hickoryhoof – One of Santa’s flying Reindeer. Obviously.

And More!

How does it work?

‘Tis The Season includes an overview of the party theme, setting and events, and a Character List. The Character List includes character descriptions for players beforehand so they may choose their preferred character in advance.

On the day of the event players receive a PDF or printed packet for each of their characters that includes a set of secrets about themselves and others that they may choose to hide or divulge at their discretion. These secrets are divided into three rounds. The Host will instruct all players to read their next round of information at various points throughout the game.

Hosts may play as a playable character or a specific Host Character, which can be provided. Need a host? Hosting services available!

‘Tis The Season For Murder is available for parties between 12 and 16.
