Fantasy Folklore Forest
Setting:
Fantasy Forest takes place in a dark and magical forest, filled with a variety of beings and creatures from folklore and fantasy, both with magic and without. Some beings are extremely old and have been living in the forest since before the people in the neighboring village settled there. Some of the beings like the Townies. Some do not. And some see the Townies as a convenient food source. Order and safety of Dark Woods is managed by the highest ranking unicorn, Night, of the Knight Unicorns.
Introduction:
Tragedy has befallen the Dark Woods! First Forest Protector Night Knight, the highly revered and magical unicorn, was found dead in the middle of Jackalope Clearing. Binty the Banshee’s cries of anguish were heard throughout the forest – chilling both inhabitants of Dark Woods and the neighboring villagers alike.
Who Killed Night Knight?!
Characters Include:
Starry Knight - Sibling of the deceased Chief Forest Protector, Night Knight. With a glimmering silver coat and glossy jet-black mane and tail, you are the more beautiful sibling to be sure, but Night always held the superior magic. You are hopelessly distraught over this unthinkable horror.
Bunn Hopperhill - First and foremost, you are a Jackalope. Not a bunny. The clearings of the forest are your territories. The grasses you protectsare incredibly rare and sacred to the Jackalopes. All traffic through the clearing is strictly controlled by you.
Spruce Willis - Resident sentient tree, you are old with vast and deep roots. As the oldest being in the forest, and the most stationary, all meetings are held in your grove. Having been in the Dark Woods for forever you know almost everything…eventually. Except how you ended up with the name Spruce when you’re clearly an Oak.
Honey Savageclaw - Straight-up hulking monster of a badger. Not long ago, you were a regular badger enjoying a midnight snack under the moon when a Werewolf attacked. Big Mistake. You killed the Werewolf for its sheer audacity. Unfortunately, you also got bit in the process and are now adapting to this new Werebadger status.
And more!
How does it work?
Fantasy Folklore Forest includes an overview of the party theme, setting and events, and a Character List. The Character List includes character descriptions to provide players beforehand so they may choose their preferred character in advance.
On the day of the event players receive a packet for each of their characters that includes a set of secrets about themselves and others that they may choose to hide or divulge at their discretion. These secrets are divided into three rounds. The Host will instruct all players to read their next round of information at various points throughout the game.
Hosts may play as a playable character or a specific Host Character, which can be provided. Need a host? Hosting services available!
The Fantasy Forest is available for various party sizes.
I Look Forward to Plotting With You!
“I have participated in two of Chelsea’s murder mysteries, and they are much bigger and more immersive than I would have ever expected. The characters are diverse and well-balanced, with just the right amount of background information that still allows plenty of improvisation in practice. Clues are revealed over time, with a good mixture of misdirection spread among the actual evidence. With the right group of people, it’s impossible not to have a fantastic and memorable experience!”
